Our first International Education Research Forum speaker of the year is Dr Taylor Le Cui. Dr Cui was presented The OrbitProtect Research Award in 2025 for their research Queer migration, heteronormativity and the ‘ethnic closet’: Chinese queer international students' intersectional experience in New Zealand. This study assists our understanding of an under-researched area and enables more careful consideration of Chinese queer international students' unique needs.
