Awards & Scholarships

The ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions by individuals working in New Zealand's international education sector. The awards also help to define a benchmark of excellence and best practice.
¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Pioneer Partner Award

The ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Award recognises an individual programme for its exemplary contribution to international education in Aotearoa New Zealand. This is a programme/department/office that has partnered with the International Education Association (¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ) to develop an innovative initiative that enhances the cross-border learner experience.

The winner of the ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Pioneer Partner Award receives one year of free institutional ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ membership and an ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØPPA trophy. They will be recognised in an ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ newsletter and on social media.

An integral part of ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØâ€™s mahi is partnering with individual providers and programmes to enhance global citizenship learning among all students.

¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Professional Leadership Award

The ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Professional Leadership Award recognises a member who has exemplified a strong commitment to the international education sector through their work, integrity and commitment to professional practice. 

The recipient is nominated by their programme. They are identified as a highly valued, integral member of the team who shows a strong commitment to enhancing the cross-border learner experience and going the extra mile in any of the following domains:

  • Student exchange/study abroad
  • Learning and teaching
  • Homestay/accommodation
  • Programme management
  • TNE
  • Admissions
  • Student advising

The winner of the Professional Leadership Award receives one year of free individual ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ membership and a Professional Leadership Award trophy. They will be recognised in an ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ newsletter and on social media.

We invite associations to nominate an individual for this award. Nominees do not need to be ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ members. 

Tracy Evans Scholarship

The Tracey Evans Scholarship is awarded annually to an individual working in New Zealand’s schools sector in the field of international education.

This scholarship was established in 2013 in recognition of Tracy Evans’ contribution to ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ. Tracy made a significant contribution to ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ, including the role of School Sector Representative on the ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ board. Tracy was on the staff of Macleans College in Auckland at the time of her passing away. 

The winner of the Tracy Evans Scholarship will receive one year of free individual ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ membership and a Tracy Evans Scholarship trophy. They will be recognised in an ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ newsletter and on social media.
